This recipe has become my go-to for brunches or family supper nights! Yes, we frequently have breakfast for supper 😀

Ingredients
- (4 1/2 cups) Milk
- (1/2 cup) Flour
- (3 Tablespoons) Butter
- (1/2 teaspoon) Black Pepper
- (3/4 teaspoon) Salt
- (Store bought or homemade) Biscuit Dough
- (1 lb) Pork Sausage - Breakfast SF
Directions
I found this recipe on https://infinetaste.com/ and it hasn't disappointed. It's quick and easy comfort food that's amazing with our Pork Breakfast Sausage! (For the "chicken lovers" version, use our Chicken Sausage instead.)
- Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F. Then brown your sausage in a medium-sized pot.
- Once your meat is browned, transfer it to a greased 9x13 glass baking dish, leaving the extra grease in your pan.
- Turn your burner on medium heat and add butter to the sausage grease. Once the butter melts, stir in the flour, salt, and pepper.
- This is a roux. Let the mixture cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring to make sure it doesn't get too lumpy. I like to use a whisk or rubber spatula.
- Slowly add in your milk. I try to add a cup or so at a time, let it thicken then add more. If you add it in all at once it probably won't thicken the way it should. You need to stir often so it doesn't get lumpy.
- Once your gravy has reached desired consistency, pour over the sausage.
- If you're using canned, store-bought biscuits you will need two (2) 7.5 ounce cans. Separate and cut the biscuits into quarters and place them on top of the gravy mixture. If you're making homemade dough, whip up your favorite recipe and drop small pieces on top. This is how I do it, and this is the recipe I use. I use our pork leaf lard as my oil.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until biscuits are done.
Planning a brunch? This pairs well with this Sausage and Egg Casserole, Oven Cooked Bacon, Dutch Baby, or Kim's Favorite Breakfast Quiche
Enjoy!
