Perfect Oven-Baked Chicken Wings

It's cold, rainy, or snowing and you don't want to use the grill. Maybe you're out of propane. Maybe you don't even have a grill. No worries! After making these Chicken Wings in your oven, you may never choose to grill them again.
Oven-baked Chicken Wings are served in my house even more often than grilled now, thanks to the ease of cooking and the perfect crisp that results.
Chicken Wings are one of the most flavorful cuts of chicken in my opinion, and additionally, Pasture-Raised Chicken Wings from small farms (like ours) are often more cost-effective than cuts like Chicken Breasts or Thighs.

- Servings: 2
Ingredients
- Salt and Pepper
- (1 tsp) Onion Powder
- (1 tsp) Garlic Powder
- (~1.5 lbs or 6 wings) Chicken Wings (Whole)
- (3 tbsp) Melted Butter or Lard
Directions
- First, you'll want to preheat your oven to 425* F. The prep won't take long.
- Pat the wings dry with a paper towel. Remove as much moisture as possible to maximize crispiness. (A dusting of cornstarch can help with this too!)
- Brush the wings with melted butter or lard, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic and onion powder. Feel free to substitute your preferred rub. Using a tupperware or bag to shake the wings in the mixture will ensure an even coat.
- Place a wire rack over a baking sheet lined with foil (for easy cleanup) and arrange the wings in a single layer, spaced out.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until 165* F in the thickest part. Let cool and enjoy! Feel free to toss them in your favorite sauce.
