Cheeseburger Pizza (Papa John's copycat)
Today, I'm excited to share a recipe that can take your family's pizza night to the next level. Kaitlyn recently found this recipe on the blog Tastes Better from Scratch. After devouring it ourselves, we decided that it was worth sharing with you. The recipe makes TWO 14" round pizzas! If that's too much, just halve the ingredients. We made our dough from scratch, but you could simplify the process by purchasing pre-made pizza dough.
  • Prep Time:
  • Cook Time:
  • Servings: 16

Ingredients

  • (2) Pizza dough
  • (1 lb) Ground Beef
  • (5-6 cups) Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • (2/3 cup) Sliced dill pickle
  • (1/3 cup) Chopped Onion
  • *For the pizza sauce:
  • (2/3 cup) Ketchup
  • (1/3 cup) Mustard
  • (1 1/2 tbsp) Mayonnaise

Directions

  1. If making your pizza dough from scratch, do that first.(Here's a great dough recipe!)

    2. Preheat oven to 450 F*. Roll out/stretch your dough and pre-bake for 6 minutes.

    3. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, browning and breaking up into small pieces until it's cooked through. Remove any remaining grease.

    4. Combine pizza sauce ingredients in a small bowl, then spread on the pre-baked dough.

    5. Sprinkle a small amount of cheese on top of the sauce. Sprinkle ground beef and onion on top of the cheese and spread desired number of pickle slices on the pizza. Top with additional cheese. Bake for 8-12 minutes.

    Feel free to customize it!

+ Opt for Ground Chicken or Pork instead of Beef

+ Leave out the pickles or onions

+ Substitute BBQ or hot sauce in place of ketchup

Enjoy!!!
