GAPS Hot Cocoa (is amazing on any diet!)

This GAPS Hot Cocoa is our late-night beverage of choice even when we aren't doing GAPS. This rich, thick cup of Hot Cocoa is surprisingly sweet and leaves you feeling happy and satisfied, thanks to the high fat content and honey as a sweetener.

Ingredients
- (1 tbsp) Unrefined Coconut Oil
- (2 tbsp) Cocoa Powder
- (1 tbsp) Gelatin - optional
- (1 tbsp) Butter
- (1/8 tsp) Sea Salt
- (1 cup) Boiling Water
- (1-1/2 tbsp) Raw Honey
- (1 egg) Pasture-Raised Egg
Directions
- Mix all of the ingredients (except for the water!) in a blender.
- Boil the water and slowly pour it over the rest of the ingredients while blending. Continue blending until smooth
- Enjoy a warm, rich cup of Hot Cocoa with zero guilt.
TIPS:
- For a dairy-free cup of GAPS Hot Cocoa, simply omit the butter and double the amount of coconut oil.
- If you use the gelatin—which we highly recommend—note that it will cause the Hot Cocoa to solidify as it cools. So if you plan to store it or drink it cool, leave out the gelatin.
- Kids love this as well! It may clog a sippy cup after a while, but as long as it stays warm it shouldn't be an issue.
