Oven-Baked Pork Steak
Pork steaks are super yummy! They're similar to pork chops. Pork steaks are cut from the shoulder roast and cost less than chops, whereas the chops are cut from the loin, making their price a little higher. You can still enjoy a nice piece of meat that's tender and juicy while saving a little bit of money!

Ingredients

  • (1 package) Bone-in Pork Steaks
  • (As needed) Cooking oil of choice
  • (As desired) Italian Seasoning
  • (As desired) Garlic Powder
  • (As desired) Onion Powder

Directions

Some people like to marinate their steaks before cooking them.

When I make them I just season as I go to cut down on time.

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  • I like to sprinkle all the seasonings on top of my steaks. I then put a thin layer of oil in my skillet. You can use whatever oil you prefer. I usually use olive oil, butter, or sometimes lard.
  • Turn your stove onto medium-high heat and let your pan and oil get hot.
  • Once it is ready to cook, put your steak in the pan season side down. I usually cook mine 3-4 minutes per side.
  • While it's cooking, season the other side the same as the first. Once your time is up, flip your steak and cook the other side.
  • Once your steaks are finished on the stove, the rest of the magic happens in the oven. I like to cook my pork steaks in a glass 9x13 because two steaks can't fit very well in my iron skillet!
  • Bake your steaks for about 15-18 minutes or until the internal temperature is 145.

Serve and enjoy!
