Mom's Sloppy Joe
I remember the first time I had Manwich. I thought to myself; this isn't sloppy joe! 😂 That's because I had grown up on my mom's homemade sloppy joes! I asked her to share her easy recipe. Here it is! When we were younger, my brother would make this and call it sloppy Kyle 🤦‍♀️

Ingredients

  • (1) Tomato Sauce - 8 oz can
  • (1 tablespoon) Mustard
  • (1 Tablespoon) Brown Sugar
  • (1 tablespoon) Apple Cider Vinegar
  • (1/2) Onion - diced
  • (to taste) Salt
  • (to taste) Pepper
  • (1/2 cup) Ketchup
  • (1 pound) Ground Beef

Directions

  1. Start by browning your ground beef on medium-high heat. Once mostly cooked, throw in your diced onions. If you're not a huge onion fan, you can substitute onion powder for the chopped onions.
  2. Add the tomato sauce and ketchup and stir.
  3. Next, add the rest of the ingredients and mix them.
  4. Cook until warm and bubbly.
  5. Serve on your favorite form of bread, such as a slice of sourdough, homemade dinner rolls, or your favorite hamburger bun!

Depending on how you like the consistency of your joes, you can adjust the amount of ketchup to make it more or less sloppy.

Enjoy!
