Hi, I'm Remi! I was 11 years old at the start of this farming adventure in 2011, and when my parents moved back to their hometown in 2019, I decided to plant myself in Missouri and continue running the farm. Kaitlyn and I got married in March of '21 after working together most of 2020. She's not only the coolest person in the world (IMO), but she has a passion for animal care and holistic living.
Together, we manage all aspects of poultry and pig care, as well as orders, farm events, and customer experience.
We find fulfillment in caring for creation and serving others, and we love doing both from our small farm in Concordia, MO.
David and Kim began David's Pasture in 2011 after growing tired of corporate America and the lies in our food system. They began with a single batch of chickens, and the business slowly grew over the course of time. In January of 2019, (most of) the Kesten family moved back to their home state of Florida to be with and care for relatives. Even so, they are still a part of David's Pasture.
John manages beef production and leads our team. He is an integral part of the planning and inner workings of the business. The oldest Cox children participate in daily animal moves and have begun growing their own shiitake mushrooms (stay tuned!)
While he's not the original "David," Dave Pratt is still a big part of DP. Each week he makes our deliveries to the Kansas City area and serves as our extra man when it's all hands on deck. He loves spending time with his wife, Pam, and their grandkids, and he's like an adopted grandfather to Kaitlyn and me.
Cameron Cox is our 2023 farm hand. She is the eldest of the Cox children and the strongest gal her age that we know! She's helping us with farm projects, moving chickens and rotating cattle throughout the week, and pack your orders each Monday.
This taco soup recipe is warming, delicious, and ready in under an hour. We use Ground Pork in ours, but Ground Beef and Stew Meat are also great options for this cool season dish.
This GAPS Hot Cocoa is our late-night beverage of choice even when we aren't doing GAPS. This rich, thick cup of Hot Cocoa is surprisingly sweet and leaves you feeling happy and satisfied, thanks to the high fat content and honey as a sweetener.
It's cold, rainy, or snowing and you don't want to use the grill. Maybe you're out of propane. Maybe you don't even have a grill. No worries! After making these Chicken Wings in your oven, you may never choose to grill them again.
Oven-baked Chicken Wings are served in my house even more often than grilled now, thanks to the ease of cooking and the perfect crisp that results.
Chicken Wings are one of the most flavorful cuts of chicken in my opinion, and additionally, Pasture-Raised Chicken Wings from small farms (like ours) are often more cost-effective than cuts like Chicken Breasts or Thighs.
