Hey guys, Kaitlyn here!

I haven't written an update in a couple of months. My hands have been a little full, quite literally!

 Meet Bo Remington Kesten 💕

Bo made his grand entrance into the world on June 9th, and what an adventure it has been. Lots of learning, snuggles, eating, and sleeping. And yes, dirty diapers. He is such a sweet baby with so much personality. He enjoys being carried around and on the go. He also loves to wiggle. But when it comes to nap time, he curls up, gets his head just right on your chest, and drifts away.

I'm not sure what this glare was for, but Remi says he gets his attitude and facial expressions from me 🤷‍♀️

Our new farm hand loves going outside for walks, but computer work isn't really his thing.

He's getting increasingly interactive, which is a lot of fun!

He is growing so much! It's hard to believe he will be 2 months old next week 💙

My family lives close by, so they get to snuggle him a lot 🙂

Thankfully Remi's family was able to make a trip from Florida to come visit. It was a fun week. Bo was loved on by lots of aunts and uncles, Grandma (Sunny) and Grandpa, and his great-grandparents, Gabby and Poppy!

He's not the only grandchild, though. Bo got to meet his cousin, Weston. Weston was born to Remi's sister Ryli and her husband James just a few weeks before we had Bo.

Here is Bo and his Aunt Rella, Remi's youngest sibling.

But Bo is not the only baby on the farm; we now have poults and chicks 🐥

These are baby turkeys, they are called poults. We love having turkeys around. They have such a cool vibe and curious personalities!

The chicks, on the other hand, seem to have an attitude of entitlement 😂 I mean look at this camera hog!

Don't get me wrong, they can be really sweet too.

Besides maintenance, chick prep, orders, deliveries, and van hunting (our old delivery van just retired) things have been pretty chill on the farm. Now that our fall growing season is starting up, it'll get a lot busier.

Next week we will have little pigs arriving 🐷 so stay tuned to our social media, emails, and future blog posts for piggy content!

And for those of you eager to get your name on a Thanksgiving Turkey, never fear! We will begin taking orders for them in October. (Shout-out to our newsletter subscribers, you'll be the first to know!)

I'm hoping to keep up with monthly updates moving forward. Until next time, enjoy the rest of your summer!

From a Small Farmer: What You Need to Know About the Bird Flu

For the last two weeks I've promised an article on the current Bird Flu situation in the U.S. Well here it is! There's more going on than meets the eye, but also more hope than you might have been given by news outlets to this point. There are many factors involved in the current egg situation in the U.S., so please bear with me as I do my best to explain what I know in a way that makes sense and doesn't take too much of your time.
