Here's the sad truth for most poultry in the U.S.

Remi here, and today I'm exposing the sad truth about the majority of poultry and livestock in our country.

Did you know that 98% of pork and 99% of poultry in the U.S. comes from CAFOs?

CAFO stands for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation. (Doesn't that sound pleasant?)

This "factory farming" results in:

  • Water & air pollution
  • Unhealthy environments
  • Antibiotic use (over 60% of "medically important" antibiotics in the U.S. are sold for food production!)

Unfortunately, CAFOs are now the standard for poultry and livestock production in the U.S. and most people don't even know.

Here is a comparison of CAFO chickens vs. our chickens:

Where does YOUR chicken come from?

At David's Pasture, we raise chickens in floorless coops that we move every day so our chickens always have bugs and forage.

Our chickens also get to enjoy actual sunlight! Our coops protect them from predators and crazy Missouri weather while still allowing them to enjoy the benefits of being outside and live a good chicken life.

Our way of farming results in:

๐Ÿฎ Happier livestock

๐ŸŒฑ A better environment

๐Ÿ’ช A healthier you

And, according to our customers, the best tasting chicken. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Thank you for taking the time to read this post! We love to share about what we do because we believe in it and, unlike most of today's food system, we want to welcome our customers into the story.

In fact, we even welcome customers to visit our farm! If you are near Concordia, MO, place an order for Farm Pickup or click here to see our upcoming events.

At David's Pasture the Livestock Come First {Why This Week's Email Was LATE}

Whew! It's been a long week. ๐Ÿ˜… Case in point: my midweek email went out Saturday instead of Thursday morning this week. I don't like getting behind on my communications to you, but here at David's Pasture we put our livestock first. โ˜ I almost gave up on writing this email, but I decided it's better late than never! You deserve to know what's going on over here and why my email is late.

The Mud Spa: Why Pigs Love to Wallow
